Project Overview
The Smart Campus Access System was developed to address the bottleneck during morning arrivals at SMA Negeri 2 Jombang. The legacy manual checking system was slow, prone to errors, and couldn't provide real-time attendance data to the administration.
Our team engineered a dual-authentication gateway utilizing ESP32 microcontrollers connected to a centralized database via the school's intranet. Students tap their NFC-enabled ID cards, while facial recognition runs as a secondary check to prevent buddy-punching.
The system integrates seamlessly with the existing student information system, automatically notifying parents via an automated WhatsApp message upon their child's safe arrival.
